Review of #Donal Macyntyre’s latest DVD “Hooligan” #edl #evf #nwi

12 09 2012

Dear me, this DVD is a pile of steaming shite. ALL the footage on it is from Youtube, jumbled together with a couple of supposed hooligans who wont show their faces (they are actors not lads) talking nonsense. There is an utter gimp of a man who calls all the lads “scum” and “bullies”. You can see that he is the kind of kid who was terrorized all the way through school and now hates the rough kids. Sean Bean is a MASSIVE letdown, calling anyone who’s ever been caught up in trouble “scum” and says if you’ve ever been involved in an incident you are guilty regardless of if you wanted to be there or not. He must be skint to read the shocking script they have given him. For some reason they also feature the EDL, presumably just so gimp boy can pop back up to call them “racist fascist scum”. Along the way you see the odd bit of footage from EDL demos, but its been disguised as football violence, presumably because Donut was struggling for material. His obsession with Jason Mariner is there for all to see as he rattles on about how he took out Chelsea’s “leader”. Newsflash, he wasn’t any sort of leader, he was your SECONDARY target when you could not get Stuart Glass, you mugged a mouthy clown in his place. Everybody knows that. Tamer Hussain is on there, presumably just to give it credibility, as hes been in some hooligan films, even though he admits hes not, nor has he ever been a hooligan so falls a bit flat. Dougie Brimson is on there, chatting shite as usual. This geezer is the bottom of the pile of hooligan authors as he says he was one of the “Watford mob”. Only problem being they didnt have a mob and most of his books are made up nonsense. This is another case of a left wing tosser trying to make money out of a subject he knows is likely to sell DVD’s, even though football violence is finished, twats like this try to make out it is still ongoing as they take you “inside the gangs”. There are no firms any more as well you know. Dont buy this its a piss poor watch. You will defo have seen all the clips before. Worst part is Sean Bean at the end in his northern accent, after calling the lads scum and saying “we dont want them at our clubs” several times reverting to acting like a lad saying “do ya fooking want some” ?. Its cringeworthy.

Absolutely awful. Keep your money.

Uglier than usual back of a bus

Share on TwitterShare on FacebookYou have heard the expression that someone who is particularly ugly has a “face like the back of a bus”? These are uglier than usual backs of buses, made so by an unpleasant poster. Maybe one in three of the buses I saw this afternoon at Walthamstow Central, on routes around east London or destined for central London bore one of these posters advertising next week’s ‘Al Quds’ march. I have reported on this event before here. As I said then Al Quds is the name some Arabs give Jerusalem. The Ayatollah Khomeni of Iran declared 30 odd years ago that the last Friday in Ramadan was to be Al Quds day, when Muslims the world over are to express their hatred of Israel and their love for the Palestinian Arabs. The ones they keep in camps rather than integrate them into their own respective countries.

The Harry’s Place website has asked their readers to call on Transport for London to remove these adverts, which depict an imprisoned Nelson Mandela, wearing a PLO scarf and looking wistfully through the bars of his cell at the Mosque of Omar in Jerusalem and quote his words on the subject of the ‘Palestinians’.

The guest writer at Harrys Place says: What you can do

Contact TfL’s partner for advertising on London’s buses, CBS Outdoor. You can contact Aiden Dunning, the Director of Legal & Business Affairs, at: aiden.dunning@cbsoutdoor.co.uk (telephone: 020 7428 2874) and feel free to Cc in Mike Hemmings, their head of Marketing, at: mike.hemmings@cbsoutdoor.co.uk (telephone: 020 7428 2852).

If you’re a Londoner, contact your MP, local councillors and assembly members – you can find out who they are and how to contact them, here.

Attempts to advertise their events by other extremist organisations (that’s his opinion of course) including the English Defence League would be rightly crushed. A five minute phone call with your elected representative and a polite e-mail to the gentleman above could be all this needed to get the IHRC off the buses of London.

In previous years the march has been on a Saturday or Sunday. This year the march is actually on a Friday when it is hard for working Englishmen and women to get time off.  Other proposed events during the period of the Olympics have been stopped or the organisors made to re-arrange. That this one is confident of their chosen date to spend so much on advertising makes me wonder what the authorities priorities are.

The shape of “Justice” in Britain today – whites jailed for words, immigrants who assault walk free #edl

29 05 2012

Which is the more serious offence do you think? Being drunk on a train and shouting some mild racial abuse or trying to kick someone to death while calling them a “white slag”? Well in today’s Britain, the shouting abuse offence is the one that gets treated most harshly. Our legal system is geared towards throwing the book at white people who dare question the mass invasion of our country by immigrants, many of whom are here only to abuse our benefits system, and many who have out and out hatred for us and cant even be bothered to try and disguise it.

Today the woman in the clip here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-18251807 who racially abused a few people (who are apparantly taking the piss out of her) was jailed for 5 months. She had done the same thing once before but the reality of the matter is, what she is guilty of here is a Section 5 public order offence, which should get her an £80 spot fine. Instead because it is “racially aggravated” she is jailed. 11 people were jailed recently in Carlisle for the same sort of thing, where no violence was used, just insulting/racist words. The police, CPS and Judges are DESPERATE to show their “anti racist” credentials, and will lock up any racist person that finds themselves at their mercy.

At the same time, the police, CPS and Judges also want to show how “not racist” they are by being leniant on any immigrants that appear before them. The vicious racist attack on Rhea Page in Leicester is a prime example of this, story here http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2070562/Muslim-girl-gang-kicked-Rhea-Page-head-yelling-kill-white-slag-FREED.html

The judge in the Aldershot case was the same, gave these hooligans a slap on the wrist and even seemed to be making excuses for their behaviour. Story here. http://casualsunited.wordpress.com/tag/aldershot-race-attack/

Weve said many times that the CPS is obsessed with diversity, and prosecutes white people ferociously while letting cases involving immigrant crimes such as grooming be swept under the carpet in the interests of “community cohesion”.

http://casualsunited.wordpress.com/2011/12/11/inside-the-crown-prosecution-service/

http://casualsunited.wordpress.com/2012/01/25/do-you-want-any-more-proof-that-football-fans-are-seen-as-fair-game-for-malicious-left-wingers-in-the-cps/

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1374443/Police-hid-abuse-60-girls-Asian-takeaway-workers-linked-Charlene-Downes-murder.html

You see, to the police and CPS, white working class people and football fans are seen as “fair game”, but cases like the link above, of Muslim grooming gangs, well that needs to be hidden, we dont want any trouble now do we?

The fact is that you do not help “community cohesion” by constantly persecuting and unfairly treating white people as they are still the majority in this country and the day is coming when there will be a massive backlash against this persecution. Do you think this women is going to be “cured” by her 5 months in prison for a minor public order offence? No likely, she is going to be bitter and evil about it for the rest of her life. When people are locked up for offensive words, while groomers and paedophiles are allowed free reign, and Somalis and other foreigners are allowed to carry out vicious attacks and walk away laughing, there will be no peace.

Child grooming case mother warns it could happen to any family

Speaking after nine men are convicted of exploiting daughter, 14, parents praise police, CPS and charity for support

The mother of a teenage girl who was groomed by a group of predatory men, plied with drugs and alcohol and forced to have sex with several men against her will, has warned that the same thing “could happen to any family”.

Manchester crown court jailed nine men last month for abusing the woman’s daughter, Ellie – not her real name – when she was 14. The perpetrators were convicted of sexual activity with a child, controlling a child prostitute, facilitating child prostitution and paying for sexual services with a child and were jailed for between six months and seven years.

Speaking for the first time since the convictions, the girl’s mother, Sally, praised Greater Manchester police and the Crown Prosecution Service for supporting the family and securing the prosecution. She said that a charity called the Coalition for the Removal of Pimping , from which the family had received invaluable support, was supporting hundreds of families in similar situations.

Ellie went missing twice from her home in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, in February 2008. When officers spoke to her in Rusholme, Manchester, she told them she had been sexually exploited by a number of men while she was missing.

Over a series of separate hearings and trials, Manchester crown court heard how Asad Hassan had targeted Ellie in Rochdale town centre. He took her to a nightclub, where she was plied with vodka and taken to a flat with two other men, Mohammed Basharat and Mohammed Atif. They were all later convicted of sexually exploiting her.

A few days later she travelled to Manchester, where she met another man, Aftab Khan, who also gave her alcohol and drugs before forcing her to have sex with several men for money.

The girl’s family are articulate middle-class professionals, who have older children. “What happened to us as a family is beyond anything we could have imagined or anticipated,” Sally told the Guardian. “It is completely off the scale of ordinary experience. People talk about problems with teenagers growing up but what happened to our daughter is so extreme we could never have been prepared for anything like this, which is one of the things that makes it so hard to deal with.

“This can happen to anyone, to any family, any child, from any social background and any race or gender.”

The first sign anything was amiss was when her daughter became secretive, Sally said. “One of the hardest things was being taken seriously in the early days because of an assumption that this was a normal teenage rebellion.”

They noticed mood changes and secrecy and mobile phone numbers on pieces of paper. “We’d received phone calls for her from males we didn’t recognise and sometimes the number was withheld. There were lots of worrying things that didn’t quite add up and make sense.” The family later found discarded mobile phone sim cards in her bedroom.

When they asked their daughter about the men, she was dismissive of their concerns.

“This is a very typical way in which men groom young girls,” Sally said. “They target adolescent girls who may appear mature physically but are emotionally immature.”

Ellie was smoking and using cannabis and vodka; her parents could not understand how she was paying for it. She became increasingly disconnected from her family. “We felt like we lost our relationship with her and we couldn’t talk to her about things. She was closed down emotionally but we would talk about ordinary day-to-day things and it became very superficial.”

They contacted social services, but the initial opinion was that Ellie was not particularly at risk. “There is a great deal of emphasis on children’s rights, competence and autonomy,” Sally said. “With this kind of grooming, the child is very much out of control as they are being controlled by somebody else and the power is always with the predator.”

Eventually the couple persuaded social services to hold a child protection meeting about their daughter, from which they were to be excluded from “which was absurd as we’d approached them with the information.” There was a shift in their attitude, as her parents fought for her. “Their attitude changed and they became allies attempting to find ways of protecting her. However, the system we are working within failed her.”

“It was a nightmare, a complete nightmare,” Sally said of the two occasions her daughter went missing from home. On the second occasion she went missing, Ellie was gone for 12 days, during which her family were frantic. “I can’t describe how frightening it is to know your child is missing and you don’t know whether they are alive or dead.”

During this time, Sally searched Manchester’s red-light district late at night while her husband waited at home by the phone.

Eventually Ellie escaped her abusers by flagging down a passing couple in the street, later going to the police and giving evidence at two separate trials. A third took place without her testimony as medical experts said she was not able to continue.

Superintendent Paul Savill, who led the inquiry, said the issue was about the vulnerability of adolescents.

“Khan was, in my mind, on the lookout for vulnerable girls,” he said. “While these girls are available he will approach them and play on these vulnerabilities and ply them with gifts.” As a result of the abuse, Savill described how the child’s self-esteem plummets and they become trapped in a cycle of exploitation.

He said Ellie had been treated like a commodity; beaten, threatened and sexually exploited. “These men took advantage of her vulnerability with no regard for her wellbeing.”

Sally said that, although the perpetrators were all Asian, it was not a racial issue. “I think there is a cultural issue here, but a more accurate reflection is the mainstreaming of pornography and the objectification of women and young girls.”

Barnardo’s is calling for all local authorities to take action on child sexual exploitation, including undertaking a risk assessment, providing or funding specialist support in sexual exploitation services and ensuring those working with children and young people are trained to recognise the signs and take action if they think a young person is at risk.

Ellie, who is now 17, said in a statement: “These people exploit young girls, introduce them to prostitution, feed them drugs and alcohol and tell them they love them. I know this because it has happened to me and it has changed my life enormously. I just hope that people will be more aware of this now and will be able to prevent this from happening to other vulnerable young girls.”

Rachel Loise, a parent support officer at Crop, said: “This violent sexual exploitation not only ruins the lives of the children and young people; the effects on the whole family are devastating – on both parents and siblings. And this can happen to any child from any family.”

Four facing conspiracy charges over khat allegations

Scales of JusticeThe investigation also involved the US Department of Homeland Security

Three men and a woman arrested as part of an investigation into the export of the stimulant khat have been charged.

Lelah Ali, 45, of Croydon, Hersi Farah, 47, of Kilburn, north-west London, and Sharrif Ali, 45, and Warsame Nur, 42, both of Coventry, were held on 1 May.

They were among seven people originally detained under the Terrorism Act, three of whom have already been charged.

All seven are accused of conspiracy over the alleged mis-description of parcels for export.

Mr Nur was also charged with fraud by false misrepresentation.

All four are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

The three men charged first appeared at the court on 5 May.

Adrian Wall, 49, Liiban Nursharif, 30, and Daud Ali, 40, were detained on Tuesday after raids on four addresses in London, Coventry and Cardiff.

Investigators from the US Department of Homeland Security have also been involved in the inquiry. The original arrests were said to be in connection with terrorist financing offences.

The plant khat is used by some people from East Africa and is not banned in the UK – but it is a controlled substance in North America.

The UK served as a legal staging post for imports of khat to other nations before it was controlled in North America and other European Union countries.

Officer injured during nationalist march through Brighton

Brighton march The march was re-reouted to avoid the seafront

A police officer has been taken to hospital after suffering a head injury during a nationalist march in Brighton.

The March for England group held its fifth annual event, with counter protests by anti-fascist groups.

About 140 people took part in the march which was temporarily halted twice and re-routed to avoid the seafront.

Sussex Police said the route had been changed “following significant verbal aggression by both groups of demonstrators”.

Roads were closed in the area, and bus services disrupted. Three people were arrested for public order offences.

The officer was injured at about 14:20 BST after being hit by a bottle which had been thrown, police said.

The march was halted first in Queen’s Road and then in Church Street, where mounted officers were deployed to help with crowd control.

The protesters rallied at Victoria Gardens for speeches before moving northwards.

Police said there were reports of missiles being thrown as the march moved past Sydney Street.

The groups started to disperse at about 15:40 BST after the protesters had reached the railway station.

Speaking before the march, Matt Silva, from March for England, denied the group was far right.

“We’re just an English pressure group really,” he said.

However, Lou Kenton, from the Anti Fascist Coalition, said: “Every year they parade through Brighton and shout racist abuse at passers by.”

Police operation in Brighton ends

Police operation in Brighton ends

22 April 2012

A major police operation took place in Brighton today, Sunday 22 April, for a march and rally, and a counter-protest.

The fifth annual March for England march, comprising some 140 people, set off from Surrey Street, by Brighton railway station, just after 12.30pm, to go to Victoria Gardens for a rally. Several hundred protestors and onlookers gathered along the route in Queens Road and in Church Street. There were verbal exchanges between marchers and protestors, and a considerable level of violence was directed towards the marchers, with missiles including bottles being thrown towards them and police. Attempts were made to obstruct the march at several points.

The rally in Victoria Gardens ended and the marchers went north up London Road and into Trafalgar Street, from where they made their way to the railway station and dispersed by shortly after 4pm. They were escorted by a strong police presence including mounted officers, in order to ensure that there was no disorder.

Two police officers were injured. The two male officers, both Constables, received head injuries when bottles were thrown at them. One of the officers was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for his injuries but was later discharged.

Several police horses received superficial cuts and bruises when attacked by protestors.

At this stage there have been no reports of damage to property, and no reports of injuries to any members of the public.

There were three arrests, all male, none of whom were from the march, on suspicion of public order offences at separate points along the line of march. One of them was subsequently released without charge and the other two, both aged 20, one from Brighton and one from Worthing, are currently in custody for interview and further enquiries.

Superintendent Steve Whitton of Sussex Police said: “A strong police presence was necessary in order to ensure that the event took place and the risk of disorder and injury was minimised. We had several hundred officers available, with support from surrounding forces including mounted officers, and our priority throughout was on public safety whilst at the same time enabling both the marchers and counter-protestors to express their views within the law.

“We had been in discussion with the organiser for the March for England and agreed that they should go from the railway station to Victoria Gardens for speeches to take place before the event closed.

“Engagement with opposing groups was limited but we continued to try to contact any such organisers to establish their intentions for the day.

“We worked closely with British Transport Police, Brighton & Hove Bus Company, and Brighton & Hove Council to ensure minimum impact on the travel infrastructure in the city. Our officers advised local residents, businesses and those planning a day out in Brighton that certain central areas would experience some temporary disruption as the march follows the proposed route. However, we continued to liaise with the community before and during the protest and provided live updates on Twitter and the Sussex Police website.

“Our priority throughout the day has been ensuring public safety whilst allowing peaceful protest, minimising disruption to the city, local communities and businesses, preventing crime and disorder and providing a safe and secure environment for the protestors and the surrounding community.

“However we were concerned that there were some people at this event whose intention was not to peacefully protest. We were able to restrain these groups and individuals with a firm, robust but fair policing response, but this did require a major police presence at several points.

“This event is an example of the way in the police service must professionally and objectively balance the competing and lawful rights of groups who are opposed to each other. Groups have every right to express their views peacefully in a democratic society, and it is our job to help ensure that they can do just that.”

Five men have today (Friday) been sentenced to a total of over 38 years after subjecting two teenage girls to a harrowing two day ordeal in a house and hotel in Birmingham.

The men were found guilty on 14 March at Birmingham Crown Court of offences linked to child sexual exploitation after the two girls had been brought into Birmingham from Telford and held over a period of nearly two days in a house and hotel in November 2009.

The girls, aged 15 and 16 at the time, were lured to Birmingham from their Telford homes and over the next 36 hours were used for the sexual gratification by Shamrez Rashid, aged 20, and Amar Hussain, aged 22, and then by a steady stream of young men – first in a cramped flat in Highgate Street and then in a nearby hotel.

Rashid and Hussain took advantage of the girls’ ignorance of their surroundings and their lack of resources to effectively detain them. They eventually escaped from the hotel with one of the girls wearing no shoes; they found a payphone and called police.

Shamrez Rashid, from Bordesley Green, was found guilty of child abduction, two rapes, attempted rape and attempted sexual assault. Sentenced to 11 years.

Amar Hussain, from Balsall Heath, was found guilty of child abduction, three rapes and attempt sexual assault. Sentenced to ten years.

Jahbar Rafiq, aged 28 from Aston, was found guilty of rape and sexual assault. Sentenced to eight years.

Adil Saleem, aged 20 from Yardley, was found guilty of rape. Sentenced to eight years.

Amer Islam Choudhrey, aged 20 from Selly Park, was found guilty of child abduction and sexual assault. Sentenced to 15 months.

A 20-year-old man also standing trial was found not guilty of sexual assault.

One of the victims, who cannot be identified, spoke briefly on the affect the ordeal has had on her: “I find it very hard to describe the affect of what happened has had on me… no-one could ever understand how I felt at the time and the shame afterwards.

“It is something that I had learned to cope with myself and deal with alone.”

Detective Inspector Caroline Marsh, from the public protection unit, said: “This has been a protracted and complex investigation since it began in 2009.

“Clearly, dealing with victims who have been subjected to such a horrific and prolonged series of attacks has been extremely difficult. We have supported them every step of the way and hope today helps to bring some sort of closure to them and their families.

“The girls have shown great courage throughout the trial which has obviously been a very difficult experience for them particularly being cross examined at length by so many barristers.

“Their evidence has been crucial to ensuring that this can never happen to another young girl in the future.”

Repeat offender: Roger Borton, pictured, was caught with one of the largest ever hauls of child pornography in the UK and continued to offend even after police raided his homeRepeat offender: Roger Borton, pictured, was caught with one of the largest ever hauls of child pornography in the UK and continued to offend even after police raided his home

A married father who downloaded a million indecent images after developing an obsession for collecting child porn has walked free from court.

Roger Borton, 56, was caught with one of the largest ever collections of child pornography in the UK and he even continued offending after police raided his home.

But even though the offences carry a maximum five-year jail term, he escaped an immediate prison sentence so he could be given therapy instead.

Borton admitted 21 charges relating to 957,351 images and movies and although he admitted to police he had looked at some for sexual gratification, he was said to be more obsessed with collecting the images than viewing them.

Some of the images were at Level 5, the most serious, but Richard Wright, representing Borton at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday, said the vast majority were at Level 1, the lowest category, which he suggested could exceptionally sway the sentence in his case towards treatment as opposed to prison.

The court heard that Borton was first arrested for the offences in November 2008 but faced such a long delay until sentence because of the sheer volume of images.

His bail was cancelled because of the delay and police returned to his home in July 2010 and seized more equipment which contained further illegal images.

Judge Colin Burn told Borton that he would not have thought it ‘humanly possible’ to view so many images ‘even in a lifetime.’

Borton, of Leeds, West Yorks., was given a 12 month sentence suspended for two years, with supervision and up to 60 days intensive activity requirement covering the sex offender treatment programme.

He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years and under a Sexual Offences Prevention Order was told he must make any devices capable of storing digital images available for inspection.

The judge said the offences were serious particularly where level four and five images were involved depicting the worse abuse.

He said: ‘Your private world, sitting in front of your PC either looking at or collecting these images, that private world is only made possible by appalling life changing abuse, both of a psychological and physical nature which these children suffer in order effectively for others to sell these images for people like you to have sexual gratification.’

The judge said he had concluded that intensive and constructive intervention now would reduce future risk.

Paul Nicholson, prosecuting, told the court Borton was initially arrested as part of a police crackdown  called Operation Nettlebed.

When interviewed he denied he was sexually attracted to children and said he liked girls up to the age of 18. He said he had started downloading adult pornography and progressed to younger girls and said it became ‘like an addiction.’

Mr Nicholson said some of the images depicted children younger than the age of 10 which Borton suggested was his limit.

Mr Wright told the court Borton had had a traumatic childhood and had since sought help with his obsession and been open with his wife and family who were standing by him.

UK Border Agency page to grass on illegal immigrants

14 04 2012

Was looking for a number to grass up some illegal workers in my local takeaway and AMAZINGLY there is no dedicated reporting line on the UKBA site, just this online form. They advise people to call crimestoppers but surely this is important enough that they have their own number?Anyway, use blue link below to report your suspicions. Especially where you see large numbers of foreigners standing waiting to be picked up in the mornings as we all do. Get number plates and vehicle details of those picking them up and get grassing. These are the cash in hand jobs illegals go for. The Chief of the MET once said if he removed the one million illegals he suspected were in London it would “close down the restaurant trade overnight”, SHAME.

U-turn on mosque free parking plans #edl

The Noor-a-Madina mosque, on Waterloo Road

Published on Thursday 12 April 2012 08:09

PLANS to give a mosque free car parking spaces in Blackpool have been shelved.

And the handling of the situation has been blasted as “chaotic” after Blackpool Council withdrew the offer.

There was uproar when it emerged the Noor-a-Madina Mosque, on Waterloo Road – which has been refused planning permission by Blackpool Council – had been conditionally offered eight free car parking passes for the Blackpool South car park.

But it has now been revealed senior officers and councillors were unaware of the deal – and the mosque has been stripped of the offer.

Deputy leader of the opposition, Coun Tony Williams, now wants a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the offer, and said: “This is totally chaotic – who is running the council?

“It is a total shambles and a disgrace.”

The council has stressed the passes would only have been issued if a planning appeal by the mosque was successful and said the decision was made because other places of worship had been granted similar arrangements in the past.

Tassuraf Shah, who runs the mosque, believes eight parking spaces could help the mosque secure planning permission – but said it had always been happy to pay.

Mrs Shah, who expects the appeal to be heard in the coming months, said: “Obviously the spaces will help us win the appeal and as far as we are concerned it is not an issue if they are free or not, we need them so will pay.”

John Donnellon, service director for built environment, said: “Mrs Shah contacted us in February to request parking permits for South Beach car park. In the past we have granted special dispensation to places of worship therefore an officer felt it was only fair if the mosque was offered the same if their planning application was successful.

“However this is not a decision that was passed by senior mangers or councillors who deem this to be a completely different set of circumstances than the other locations. In the light of this, the offer of the complementary passes has been revoked.

“I want to make it perfectly clear that the visitors to the mosque have not been parking for free in a council car park and nor will they do so in the future.”

Louise Mensch was in the USA when the email was sent

A Conservative MP was sent a threatening email telling her she would have to choose which one of her children would die, a court has heard.

Mother-of-three Louise Mensch, who is MP for Corby in Northamptonshire, was told she faced a “Sophie’s Choice” – a reference to a novel and later film in which heroine Sophie has to choose between the life of her son or daughter at a Nazi concentration camp.

The sinister email was purportedly sent from the online hacking group Anonymous, Gloucester Magistrates’ Court heard.

However, police later arrested and charged Frank Zimmerman – a 60-year-old agoraphobic living in a run-down house in Gloucester.

Zimmerman, of Spinney Road, Barnwood, Gloucester, was accused of an offence of sending by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene, menacing message or matter on 22 August last year.

The court heard that Zimmerman had failed to attend any court appearance to answer the single charge he faced or give proper instructions to his solicitor – blaming his agoraphobia and depression.

Defence solicitor Charles Cronin told District Judge Martin Brown that he had spoken to Zimmerman by telephone and that he would not be attending court and was instead going back to bed.

In the defendant’s absence, Judge Brown decided to proceed without him and held a hearing to determine whether Zimmerman had committed the offence.

Prosecutor Gaon Hart told the court that that Zimmerman had sent the email to Mrs Mensch after she had spoken out publicly during last summer’s riots calling for the police to be able to temporarily close down social network sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, if necessary.

Zimmerman originally made contact with the chick lit author-turned-MP on Twitter using the pseudonym Tim Cavendish.

He claimed he had information about Piers Morgan and the telephone hacking scandal engulfing the News of the World.

Mrs Mensch sent him her personal gmail email address. It was to that account that Zimmerman sent the threatening message, the court heard.

The email, which was timed at 10.47pm on 22 August, was sent from an account with the address of lulz.sec@hotmail.com – a reference to the internet hacking group Lulz Security.

The email said:

“Subject: You have been HACKED :D

Louise Mensch, nee Bagshawe, the slut of Twitter.

We are Anonymous and we don’t like rude c**** like you and your nouveau riche husband Peter Mensch. You have been hacked!

We are inside your computer and all your phones, everywhere… and inside your homes.

So get off Twitter.

We see you are still on Twitter. We have sent a camera crew to photograph you and your kids and will post it all over the net, including Twitter. C***face.

You now have a Sophie’s Choice. Which kid is to go? One will, count on it c***.

Have a nice day

From all of us at MIT 617-253-1000″

Mr Hart said the reference to MIT followed by a US telephone number was to give the impression the email had been sent from hackers linked to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Mrs Mensch was in New York with her husband recovering from an operation while her three children were with their father, her ex-husband, in the UK.

The MP took the threats seriously and immediately contacted the police, the court was told.

In a victim impact statement read to the court, Mrs Mensch spoke of her terror at receiving the threat.

“I was terrified on behalf of my children. I was in New York with my husband recovering from an operation and my children were with their father and to receive a threat like this made me very upset,” she said.

“I was 3,000 miles away from my children and I was worried for their safety and the safety of my ex-husband. I felt powerless to do anything.”

Mrs Mensch said that after receiving the email she was sent a Twitter message from someone called “Robert Redford”.

“He made reference to the contents of the email and that one of my children would die and it made me believe he was responsible,” she said.

Zimmerman first became a suspect for threatening Mrs Mensch when Independent newspaper columnist Terence Blacker, who was a former neighbour of the defendant in London, received a similar email.

A forensic examination linked the sender of the email to the IP and router addresses of Zimmerman’s Virgin Media account at his home in Gloucester.

Police visited his house and he volunteered the password for his computer, the court was told.

Examination of that computer found Zimmerman had a series of tabs on his internet browser open at the Twitter accounts of Tim Cavendish, Mrs Mensch, Piers Morgan and Lord Prescott.

He also had pages open on BBC News Online of reports of Mrs Mensch receiving threats to her children by email, an article on the News of the World hacking scandal and a story on the hacking group Anonymous.

There was also a page open for a Skype account in the name of Tim Cavendish.

Detective Constable Iqbal Azad told the court: “We were able to trace the internet service provider and it was an internet broadband account held by Mr Frank Zimmerman at his home address.”

Judge Brown said he had to rule on whether the email sent to Mrs Mensch was malicious, and if it was, had Zimmerman sent it.

He said he was satisfied the email was malicious and added: “The court needs to be satisfied that this email can be linked to the defendant.

“The very helpful evidence of Det Con Azad has been clear that there is a direct link to the IP address that has been identified as coming from Mr Zimmerman’s computer.

“It does not appear in question in my mind that the prosecution have established a direct link by the email received by Louise Mensch and the computer that was found at the defendant’s address.

“I can be satisfied that this was a malicious communication sent by Mr Zimmerman from his computer at his home address.

“I can therefore be satisfied that he committed the act in question and the offence has been committed.”

The judge said he had decided not to issue an immediate warrant for Zimmerman’s arrest without bail and was releasing him on unconditional bail until he is sentenced on 8 May.

He told Mr Hart: “If he does not attend on that date, and unless circumstances change, he must understand I am being left with very little alternative but to issue a warrant.”

Following the judge’s ruling, Mr Hart said the Crown would be applying at the sentencing hearing for a restraining order against Zimmerman, preventing him contacting “other high-profile individuals”.

Details of the proposed order were not revealed in court.

Speaking afterwards, Mr Hart, who is part of the Crown Prosecution Service’s special crime and counter-terrorism division, said: “The right to freedom of speech is accompanied by laws that protect individuals from those who seek to abuse that freedom and use the anonymity of email or Twitter accounts to hide from the fear that they cause.

“Zimmerman attempted to use pseudonyms and other methods to wage a campaign of fear against a high-profile person, thinking that he was safe from detection.

“He was wrong. This should be a salutary lesson for anyone who considers that they are above the law because they threaten others through a computer rather than on the streets.

“I would also like to thank officers from the Metropolitan Police Central e-crime unit for their hard work.”
