Chief Supt Angela Williams in Lund Park, KeighleyA police chief has revealed that 54 suspects have been arrested across the Bradford district in the last five months by officers investigating cases of predatory paedophiles.
Speaking after the jailing of two child rapists, who travelled to Keighley to groom and snare their victims, Chief Superintendent Angela Williams pledged to work with the whole community to improve youngsters’ safety.
“There are ongoing investigations into similar crimes – including another case in Keighley – and since October there have been 54 arrests within the Bradford district,” said Chief Supt Williams.
And she stressed this was a sign that police tactics were working to cut out the grooming of vulnerable teenage girls – not a signal of increased paedophile activity.
“Those arrests prove success because they show the system is working. Success breeds success and I firmly believe we have reached a tipping point – particularly in the fact that more and more children now feel able to talk to us,” she said.
And the new commander for the Airedale and North Bradford division has a keen personal interest in protecting the area’s children as she was born and raised close to Lund Park, Keighley, one of the sites where perverts Shazad Rehman and Bilal Hussain preyed on girls as young as 14.

Anyway, the MFE march is NOT a demo against immigrants or anyone else, it is a celebration of England. These left wing idiots hate any display of patriotism and are calling for violence again to try and stop the march. Last year a ten year old girl was hit on the head by a bottle and the police failed to make a single arrest and they enforced the Section 60 law prohibiting face coverings for the MFE marchers only and allowed violent Anarchists to run around all day with faces covered. They even failed to make arrests when we provided them with pics and footage of Commies throwing things and attacking police. We feel the police plan was to allow this violent attack to put MFE off from going back this year.
As a result of the deliberately bad policing last year, Casuals and other groups had a “social day” in Brighton last June which even though was just a group of friends at the seaside for the day, and there was no trouble, had to be policed at some expense. If you feel you need 500 officers because a group of friends go to the seaside then that is up to you, but this year, if Brighton police fail to stop Anarchists and other left wing thugs from attacking the MFE march, and fail to enforce Section 60 and/or make arrests then we will be coming back to Brighton for a series of day trips again.

The facts are this. The EDL turnout in Cambridge was shocking and consisted largely of pissheads and Jeremy Kyle merchants. The majority of people stayed away because they have no faith in current leadership who are apparantly tearing the movement apart from the inside.
A lot of the old lot are coming back for Manchester, but they make it clear that they are coming to this demo only to support the northern lot who have arranged it, so they are going to support the footsoldiers and not the leadership.

THE bosses of a Yorkshire council have been forced to apologise after being savaged by MPs for their “dismal failure” dealing with the sexual exploitation of hundreds of young girls over the past decade.
Members of Parliament’s Home Affairs Committee yesterday launched a series of attacks on senior executives at Rotherham Council for the authority’s failure to better protect children across the borough from grooming gangs, and for the lack of prosecutions of the “horrifying characters” responsible.
A series of reports over recent years have revealed Rotherham to have deep problems of child exploitation – but only a single successful prosecution has been achieved during the past 10 years.
Speaking before the committee met yesterday, Rotherham Council chief executive Martin Kimber apologised for the “systemic failures” that have let down vulnerable children over the past decade.
“It’s widely acknowledged that sexual exploitation of young people wasn’t handled anywhere near as well even six or seven years ago as it is today,” Mr Kimber said.
“I would certainly apologise to young people and families where they have been let down. I don’t think that is ever a consequence generally of individual failure – it’s nearly always systemic failure.”
Committee chairman Keith Vaz said 600 child victims of sexual exploitation in Rotherham have been identified by the council over the past decade, but that only eight men had ever been arrested – for offences against just four children. Only a single successful prosecution has taken place.
“We’re talking about hundreds of victims, of vulnerable young girls who have not been protected,” Mr Vaz said. “Why has Rotherham failed so dismally to deal with the issue of child grooming?”

Labour MP David Winnick said “the general impression” is that those alleged to be involved with child abuse in Rotherham “have been able to get away with their vile activity, without sufficient pressure from the authorities”.
But Rotherham’s director of children’s and young people’s services, Joyce Thacker, said securing convictions in exploitation cases was notoriously difficult, and that disrupting the activities of the criminals was more important in protecting potential victims.
“Prosecution is the icing on the cake,” she said. “Prevention is actually the key issue for me. Prosecutions are very hard to achieve in child sex exploitation.”
She said the council “spends lots of time” trying to disrupt the activities of potential sex offenders.
But Conservative MP Nicola Blackwood said she was “concerned” by this response, and that the prosecution of criminals was also hugely important.
She demanded to know why the authorities in Rotherham have managed only a single prosecution, when in Lancashire – another area perceived to have a serious grooming problem – 100 prosecutions took place in 2011 alone.
“Other areas are managing to overcome these problems,” the Tory MP said. “This does not seem to be happening in Rotherham.
“You still seem to have a lot of victims, and you still don’t have any prosecutions.
“What is more difficult in Rotherham than in Lancashire, or in Oxford, or in anywhere else with exactly the same problems that you are experiencing?”
Mrs Thacker said she was “delighted” if other authorities are succeeding in prosecuting child sex offenders, and that “it frustrates me when we don’t get that level of convictions”.
But she denied Mr Vaz’s charge that the council had “failed dismally” to deal with the problem.
“I don’t think I fully accept that we’ve failed dismally to deal with the issue,” she said. “I think there some historical issues here which we have managed over time to actually have an improved service.
“When you look back at practice from, say, a decade ago, things have improved substantially in that time.”
Mr Winnick said an Ofsted report from last year showed the council’s practices had improved significantly over recent years.
But Mr Vaz said: “The committee is very concerned about the record of Rotherham as far as child grooming is concerned. We’re very disappointed to have heard some of the evidence we have today.”
Last year senior officers from South Yorkshire Police were treated to a similar mauling over child sex grooming by the Home Affairs committee.
At that hearing in October, Mr Vaz told South Yorkshire chief constable David Crompton: “I must say I am very disappointed, because I do not think South Yorkshire has got a grip on this very, very, serious issue.”

Bedfordshire PoliceA 20-year-old was left with stab wounds to his back and waist during a vicious assault.
The man was walking between Waldeck Road and Highbury Road, Luton at 11pm on Christmas Eve, when he was approached by a group of five males.
One of the gang stepped forward and stabbed the man twice, before he managed to run away.
The victim was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital, where he received treatment to two wounds.
PC Nicole McCaffrey, who is investigating the attack, is keen to speak with anyone who was in Highbury Road or Waldeck Road at the time of the incident and may have seen the offenders in the area.
The group are all described as Asian males, between five feet six inches and seven inches tall, slim to medium build and with their faces covered.

9th July 2011. English Defence League demonstration in Halifax. Riot police chase after EDL members after they broke free into the grounds of Eureka.
A 21-year-old Rochdale man and a 16-year-old youth from Stockport have been locked up by a judge for their part in disturbances involving English Defence League supporters at the Eureka Museum in Halifax.
Michael Kelly, of Sykes Court, Rochdale, and the teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, had travelled to West Yorkshire in July last year for an EDL demonstration in the car park of the popular family attraction.
Bradford Crown Court heard that although it was a Saturday the museum itself was closed to the public and only some staff were on duty that afternoon.
Prosecutor David McGonigal told the court how the Unite Against Facism group were due to hold a counter demonstration about a mile away, but police became concerned about possible clashes when about 50 EDL supporters headed towards the King Cross Road area.
A bus was provided to take the EDL followers to the Eureka car park and Mr McGonigal said it was at about 1.30pm when between 200 and 300 EDL demonstrators broke through the fence at the museum and confronted a small number of police officers.
Mr McGonigal said rocks and bottles were thrown towards officers who were in their normal uniforms and the crowd was shouting and gesticulating aggressively.
Staff inside the museum were frightened by the incident and some of the crowd made their way around to the side of the museum where industrial-size bins were overturned and damage caused to fencing.
Mr McGonigal said the demonstrators were eventually contained by officers in riot gear, police dogs and mounted police.
Kelly, who had earlier been filmed in Sowerby Bridge wearing a skull mask, was one of those who went through the broken fence into the museum grounds and Mr McGonigal alleged that at one stage he could be seen charging towards the police officers.
Kelly, who has a previous conviction for threatening behaviour at a football match, admitted violent disorder on the basis that he had no thrown anything at the police himself.
Kelly, who was arrested in December, said he was not a member of the EDL but had wanted to take part in a peaceful manner.
He said he was part of the crowd and blamed the police for “hemming” them in at the car park.
He said he wasn’t charging at the police, but simply trying to get out of the museum grounds.
Kelly was jailed for nine months by Judge Peter Benson who also imposed a two-year anti-social behaviour order on the defendant.
The 16-year-old, who also admitted violent disorder, was shown on CCTV footage kicking at the fence before it is broken down.
At the time the youngster was wearing a scarf over his face.
The teenager was sentenced to a six-month detention and training order and he was also made the subject of a two-year ASBO
