An Iranian national paid £7,000 for a ‘package’ that would enable him to illegally enter Britain by flying into Manchester Airport.
Reza Sabet, who said he had fled his native country because of religious persecution, travelled thousands of miles through Turkey, Greece and Denmark in an attempt to enter the country.
He had been told he had more chance of getting asylum in Britain than anywhere else.
