An independent councillor has provoked outrage by advocating that all immigrants to the UK should be classified as illegal.
Mike Harris, who was elected to Torfaen council in May to represent Pontypool, also derided last weekend’s gay Mardi Gras festival in Cardiff, suggesting facetiously that he was considering organising a march for heterosexuals.
His comments on his Facebook site were condemned by former UK Cabinet Minister Paul Murphy, the Labour MP for Torfaen, and the constituency’s Labour AM Lynne Neagle.
