Hate speech conference in #York this weekend action required #edl #bnp #ukip

22 08 2012

The organisers of this hate speech conference have been told that certain speakers are banned and that they will be thrown out of the venue if they dont comply but we say thats not good enough. A counter demo weekend is being planned. Money raised by this conference will inevitably be given to the likes of the Taliban and used to fund attacks against our troops. we are not having this. Yorkshire Casuals and other groups are mobilising to actively confront these people.

Here is the venues website, Manager is Dewi Lewis email dl@qe.org  and his number is 01423 333384 drop them a line and tell them we will not allow this to go unchallenged.

Here is the organisers website

Anyone interested in countering this email us

Read below the kind of speakers they wanted there. Then think, are they going to really ban them? I doubt it

Islamia Village – speakers banned

Posted on August 20, 2012

1

For more than five weeks now anti-extremism campaigners have been in dialogue with the management at Thorpe Underwood Estate with regards to speakers invited to  ‘Islamia Village’. Good news, some of the speakers have been banned and the venue has put restrictions in place thatIslamic Network must adhere to.

Whether or not Islamic Network will agree to these legally-binding strictures we have yet to see, but if they do not, the event will be cancelled. If the event does go ahead, it will be very closely monitored, and any extremism or hate-speech will lead Thorpe Underwood to immediately pull the plug on the whole thing.

The event was highlighted here and here last month. More news to follow.

Here’s a round up of some of the speakers (and organisers) in question, their comments ranging from unpleasant to disgraceful.

Anti-non-Muslim bigotry

Said Rageah:
“You will see a lot of them going to the kuffar, taking them as friends and allies. The wrath of Allah is upon them. If they were true believers they would never take them as allies.”

Murtaza Khan:
“We should have a sense of shame. For how long have we seen our mothers, our sisters, and our daughters have to go and uncover themselves before these filthy non-Muslim doctors.”

“Some Islamic individuals, some people, some individuals their perception unfortunately seems to be evil perception. Some people want to spread fawahish, illicit conduct and behaviour inside society amongst the believers.  And also we know what to expect from non-Muslims, we know what to expect from them. But a sad factor is that more and more way we are seeing this from amongst Muslims.”

Assim Al Hakeem:
“Nowadays I as a Muslim, I have my identity. I go up I don’t come down. When I wear these shackles and be cool, and when I walk, I walk like a gorilla, my hands reach my knees and I think that I’m cool, no I’m not cool, I am imitating a kafir. Am I a kafir? I’m Muslim. I’m proud to be a Muslim. Wearing these shackles and wearing these necklaces and bracelets or an earing, I’ve seen Muslims wearing a cross. What is this? ‘It’s cool. I don’t believe in it but it’s cool, it looks nice.’ So people go down the slope of following the kuffar until they become like them.”

“First of all, if your non-Muslim relative, whether a father, a mother, an uncle, an aunt or a grandfather or mother, if they die you are not allowed in Islam to ask Allah for forgiveness for them…you should not be involved in any ceremony that goes side by side in their burial. As long as there are people to take care of them, whether they are your parents or your uncle, so you should not witness their funeral or attend such a thing and Allah knows best.”

Is piercing allowed in Islam? “It’s permissible, but providing it is following the Islamic culture, not a culture of the kuffar.”

Abdurraheem Green:
“Some brothers and sisters may say ‘Subhanallah what’s this got to do with us? How do we support the kuffar against the Muslims?’ Brothers and sisters you can support the kuffar against the Muslims even by a word. It doesn’t mean that you say ‘Don’t worry you can use my country for airbases’ only. That’s not the only way you can support the kuffar against the Muslims. Not only that you say ‘Don’t worry, we’ll fight with you oh America and Britain and we will fight with you against the Muslims’. Yes this an act of kufr to help the kuffar against the Muslims but even brothers and sisters by a word, even by a word. Even by some statement that you can make. For example, slandering and attacking the Muslims unjustly, such as you find many Muslims have done this about the Taliban. Slandering them and attacking them and reviling them based upon news that has come from the disbelieving media, helping the kuffar against the Muslims. This I have to warn you could be an act of kufr brothers and sisters that could take you out of Islam.”

“I’ll probably, someone at least is probably going to want to assassinate me after what I’m going to say here but you know, I don’t really get very sad when, you know, a non-believer dies, I mean I’m sad they didn’t die a believer, you know, on that level I’m sad, you know. We say that when someone who is a non-believer, especially someone who is a caller to disbelief, and I mention, for example, two particular personalities that died recently – Lady Diana and Mother Theresa, both of them ardent callers to disbelief in Allah subhana wa ta’ala, So hamdulillah I remember when my dad came, I actually, I was staying with my parents and my dad came down and told me, you know, early in the morning, you know, that Lady Diana had died, you know…hamdulillah…hamdulillah” (laughter from audience).

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“No one loves the kuffar. No one loves the kuffar, not a single person here from the muslims loves the kuffar, whether those kuffar are from the UK or from the US. We love the people of Islam and we hate the people of kufr. We hate the kuffar.”

“I don’t believe them as they are kuffar, and lying is part of their religion. These kuffar, they do whatever they want to do.”

If you are a Muslim and you don’t draw a line between you and kuffar, you and kufr, then there’s a problem in your Islam…When I say being separate from kuffar, shirk and mushrikeen it doesn’t mean go live on a mountain. It doesn’t mean that. It means their way of life, those things that are counterproductive and against our religion, you have to take a stance against it.”

“Al-Islam goes over everything and nothing goes over Islam. The girl who becomes a Muslim today, her father’s a kafir? No brothers, no uncles who are Muslims? None of them can be the wali over that girl. We did not give the kuffar any way on top or over the believers.”

Abu Abdissalam:
If two people are wearing the exact same garment, one could be sinning while the other is not, such as a person who wears a baseball cap: if he intends to imitate the kuffar (e.g. the ‘Westerners’) by this then he is sinning; if not, then he isn’t.”

Abuz Zubair (Saleem Beg):
Anybody who attributes themselves to kufr philosophy, such as communism, secularism, capitalism, that these people are apostates and if they claim to be Muslims then these people are major hypocrites, major munafiqeen because on the one hand they outwardly claim to be Muslims whilst they are inwardly kuffar.”

Islamic Network:
“The matter has been made even worse by the opening up of mass communications between peoples, whereby the rituals and customs of the kuffâr are now transmitted with the glamorous adornment of sound and image from their countries into the Muslim countries, via satellite TV and the World Wide Web (Internet). Many Muslims have been deceived by their glamourAllâh has forbidden imitation of the kuffâr; He has described it as hateful and has warned against the consequences of that, in many âyahs, on many occasions, and in various ways, especially imitation of the kuffâr. Sometimes He does that by forbidding following them or obeying them; sometimes by warning against them or being deceived by their plots, following their opinions, or being influenced by their actions, conduct or attitude. Sometimes He does that by mentioning some of their characteristics that will put the believers off from them and from imitating them…Experience has shown that admiration for the kuffâr and imitation of them causes people to love them, have complete faith in them and take them as friends and helpers, and to reject Islam and its people, its heroes, its legacy and values, and become ignorant of all of that…The purpose of Valentine’s Day in these times is to spread love between all people, believers and disbelievers alike. Undoubtedly it is harâm to love the kâfirs”

“It is under such rules that non-Muslims are forbidden in the Muslim state from occupying certain key positions. For similar reasons, non-Muslim men are forbidden from marrying Muslim women.”

“Unfortunately many of the abominable practices found in the west and other kuffaar societies are creeping into Muslim societies.”

Christians and Jews

Abdurraheem Green:
If we want to go into this it’s easy for me to prove if anyone has knowledge that what I said is right, OK? For example, open Bukhari you will find the hadith that if you find the Jew or a Christian walking down the street, push them to the side. It is well-known from what Umar ibn al-Khattab and the khulafa ar rashidin used to implement, that the Jew and Christian was not allowed to ride on a horse when the Muslim is riding on a horse. They would have to walk. Allah he said in the Quran about the jizya that you, that fight the people of the book, Allah (SWT) said, it’s in the Quran, fight the people of the book and those who do not believe that what Allah has made lawful as lawful and what Allah has made unlawful as lawful, until they pay the jizya and feel themselves subdued. The purpose of the jizya is to make the Jew and the Christian know that they are inferior and subjugated to IslamOK? In the Muslim state, although the Jew and Christian is free to practice their religion, this is allowed, but they can not display their cross and even in the time of Umar they were not allowed to re-construct or construct new churches...Although the sharia allows the Jew and the Christian to practice their religion in an Islamic country it does not encourage it.”

“We are surrounded by evil but we do nothing to change it? We do nothing to call the people to Islam? We do nothing to call the people away from shirk and kufr? No, many of us partake in it, Happy Christmas, Happy New Year, happy shirk, happy kufr, subhanallah.”

Assim Al Hakeem:
On relatives who have converted to Christianity: “How would a Muslim treat a relative who committed the act of apostasy? You have to declare your refusal of such an act of apostasy and you have to hate this act of apostasy, and you have to announce your rejection to such an act.Secondly, there are no pledges of allegiances between you and that relative who committed that act of apostasy whether he is your father, your mother or your brother. The minute he rejects Islam in such a fashion you have no relationship with him or any pledge of allegiance to assist him or to help him…But if you feel that he is defiant, he is fixed on not accepting Islam, it would be advisable for you to shun him, to sever all connections with him especially if you think this would add value and make him feel bad about what he had done.”

“You are not allowed to give charity to organizations that are Christian as they will use the money to preach their false religion.”

In case of some Christian or Jew talking against Mohammad (SAWW) etc, then will the penalty be the same in Islam in a Muslim state? “If this was done in a proper Muslim state, the Muslim ruler has to after consulting with the Islamic judge execute them after they are tried and convicted in a court of Islamic law.”

“We are not to love them (non-Muslims) as we love the Muslims. We have to have boundaries and limitations. As for the Shia, if he does not say anything bad about the Prophet….if he doesn’t say this then we can accept his invitation but if he attacks the companions of the Prophet….he’s a kafir and he’s worse than a Jew or Christian.”

Murtaza Khan:
“We have become Jews in our clothing, Jews in our eating and Jews in everything that we do, and the other half is Christian in everything we do. Muslims are following one of these accursed nations. And people are still not waking up to understand the fact thatthese people are enemies towards us.”

“We have no real interest in these pagan practices (New Year), we can go across their pagan customs and their influences on such dates and beliefs because the Quran mentioned ‘leave them to eat and to drink and to rejoice.’ Many passages inside the Quran mention ‘they are like cattle,’ ‘they are heedless individuals’…this is what you call a contamination, an epidemic at the moment the evil that we’re surrounded by at the moment. It may sound harsh but we don’t greet or even respond to any slogans. To say things like ‘Have a happy new year, a good new year, give out greeting cards, prosperous new year, a festive season, this is not allowed for Muslims to do. We do not greet them.”

Islamic Network:
In recent years, a new phenomenon has spread among the Muslim youth – males and females alike – which does not bode well. This is manifested in their imitation of the Christians in their celebration of the Valentine’s Day, which has led the scholars and dâ’iyahs to explain the rulings of sharî’ah concerning that, out of sincerity towards Allâh, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims and their common folk, so that Muslims may have a clear understanding of this issue and so that they will not fall into that which will undermine the belief (‘aqîdah) with which Allâh has blessed them”

‘Eed al-Hubb (the celebration of Valentine’s Day) comes under the category of what has been mentioned here, since it is one of the pagan Christian holidays. Hence it is not permissible for any Muslim, who believes in Allaah and the Last Day, to participate in it, approve of it, or congratulate (anyone on that occasion). On the contrary, it is obligatory to abandon it and stay far away from it,”

Living with non-Muslims

Assim Al Hakeem:
We advise you, as others have, not to go and live in a kaafir country, unless you are forced to go there temporarily, such as seeking medical treatment that is not readily available in a Muslim country…There are two basic conditions which must be met before staying in kaafir countries: The first condition is: that the person must be secure in his religious commitment, so that he has enough knowledge, faith and will power to ensure that he will adhere firmly to his religion and beware of deviating or going astray, and that he has an attitude of enmity and hatred of the kaafirs and will not befriend them and love them, for befriending them and loving them are things that contradicts faith.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“Dawah is one of the reasons that a person is allowed to live with the kuffar. But living with the kuffar is a major sin…As we sit here ikhwan we have to hate it in our hearts, living with these kuffar.”

Abu Adissalam:
“There’s no reason to be in this country except for dawah, Muslims.”

Abdurraheem Green:
“We’re surrounded by the kuffar, don’t criticise this one for this mistake and this one for that mistake, subhanallah. What are we doing in this country anyway? If you want to criticise Muslims go to Muslim land, hijra, leave. Go and reform the Muslims there. Here we need to concentrate on our immediate problem and that is kuffar, we’re surrounded by them. We shouldn’t infact, many ulama, many ulama they said that it’s not permissible to live in this land, it is not allowed to be in the land of the kuffar…many ulama they said the only, one of the only reasons, there are other reasons, but one of the only reasons that it is permissible to dwell and to live in the land of the kuffar is to call them to Islam.”

“It would seem that the strongest evidence is that it is not permitted for the Muslim to stay and remain and to live permanently in the land of the non-Muslims.”

Female sex-slaves

Assim Al Hakeem:
“And in Islam slavery is permissible only through wars. Now, if a man has a woman as his slave he has the right to have intercourse with her. She’s not his wife and she is bought and sold in the market of slavery. When we say this you have to look at the holistic picture. Don’t say that ‘Oh, this is barbaric. How can a man sleep with a woman just because he bought her and then he sells her after a month and isn’t this prostitution?’ No it is not. However, if a person buys a slave woman and he sleeps with her and she becomes pregnant, this is for her sake because the minute she gets pregnant she cannot be sold, and she can’t be inherited and she cannot be given as a gift. Her pregnancy sets her free. So she is now known as the mother of a child. She cannot be sold or dealt with financially. She’s not free. She stills stays with her master and her master owns her and he has to be kind for her but he cannot sell her.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“The second type of zina is the zina in which the Muslim today is saying that these kuffar women are what our right hands possess, they’re from our right hand possessions. No doubt ikhwan the right hand possession, the ‘milk al-yamin’ is from the religion but it is not being practiced today correctly…It is a fact that the milk al-yamin should not be an issue that we have a problem with…So because we are apologetic about our religion and what Allah has revealed Muslims want to deny the presence and the concept and the permissibility of the right hand possession -  a man can have a concubine in al-Islam when Islam is being practiced correctly. And for every man that’s in this masjid right now, he can have, that one man, this many concubines in addition to his four wives. That’s the religion of al-Islam. If he had money it’s permissible for him to have this many concubines when Islam as practiced correctly. The people will say ‘Why are you mentioning that here? You’re embarrassing us.’ If you’re embarrassed then something’s wrong with you and your religion.”

Homosexuals

Abdurraheem Green:
“So finally, we want to very, very briefly touch upon the issue of homosexuality which again is something which is a serious, serious sin in the religion of Islam which Allah (SWT) prohibited us from…and in fact, indeed again it is one of those things that has a proscribed punishment in Islamic law for people who are found participating in this what is to be considered to be an unnatural act.”

“First of all I don’t like to use this word ‘gay’. This word ‘gay’, to use it is already to be fooled by the propaganda of these people, OK? This word is used in order to make this evil and vile act acceptable in society. They should be called at least homosexuals, this is the least. Better to use a more derogatory term like sodomites, this is a better term. Sodomite refers, and therefore automatically brings to mind, in the minds of the people, Sodom and Gomorrah which are the two towns to which Allah sent the Prophet Lut alaihis-salam, who indulged, and they were the first people to indulge in this evil and vile act which Allah severely criticised and condemned in the Quran.”

At the very basic concept we all have to agree as Muslims that making a crime which is a ‘crime’ in Islam, to say it is actually a crime to have a problem with this ‘crime’, do you understand what I’m saying? It’s a criminal offence in England to revile someone because of their homosexuality. So now it has been made a crime to hate the crime. Can we accept this as Muslims? Can we say that Islam is compatible with this? Does any person in this room think that this type of ideology is compatible with what Allah has revealed? I hope not.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“But even greater than that is the zina of homosexuality and the zina of lesbianism. The prophet (SAW) said ‘Kill the one who does it and the one who it’s being done to. Kill the one who was on top and the one who was on the bottom’ whether it’s a man or a woman, and this is going to come inshallah (translation missing) homosexuality, and how the companions looked at it, and how they used to punish them, and the severity and the seriousness of it, it’s from the the worst types of zina…You go outside of our masjid on Green Lane, you make a right, on the corner of Green Lane and Coventry Road the non-Muslims put up there a big poster giving dawah to lesbianism, only a few metres away from our masjid…Muslims we should make a point about issues like this. Those kuffar should hear our opinion about issues like this. We should have enough organisation, enough leadership to let those people know this is not tolerated in our community. Why by the masjid? They don’t do it by the church. So we expect from the Muslim leadership to have a stance and to make positions, let those people know.

If I were to call homosexuals perverted, dirty, filthy dogs who should be murdered, that’s my freedom of speech, isn’t it? They’ll say ‘No’ I’m not tolerant. But they feel that it’s OK to say something about the Prophet”

“Do you practice homosexuality with men? Take that homosexual man and throw him off the mountain.”

“Well, here’s a problem we have right here today. Since we’re living in the West, since we’re living in America, we have to judge with democracy. As I mentioned to you brothers in the last two weeks, they have given the people in America who do the actions of the people of Lut, they have given them unprecedented rights. Now, now the child has the right and the school has the right to teach what they call ‘alternate’ education where you teach alternate lifestyles in the school system so that your child, if he goes to the public school, can be exposed and introduced to two lesbians. It used to be that on the books if a person got caught doing the (?) that he can be brought to trial for sodomy. They took that off now. So now they said if a Muslim, or anybody in the city, if one of those people come to you and they wanna rent your house, your apartment, your flat, if you discriminate against them you’re going to jail. If they come to work for you in your business, if you discriminate against them because of what they do, you’re going to jail. The Muslim says ‘Well I’m living in America, this is democracy, I have to practice democracy here’ all the while, every day when one of us goes to them with the (?) they discriminate against us and they have no (?) about it. But when the tables are turned you’ll find the Muslim being sincere having (?) in executing the way those people think and what they want from us, we can’t discriminate. We say Allah he will discriminate but we’ll discriminate in a way where we don’t get in trouble. The Muslim is a dentist, one of those people come and he has that disease, that tremendous disease that Allah put in those people, and he refuses to treat him, he may get his business taken away from him. So, as the Muslim dentist, I’m going to take a big, big needle and stick it in his gum and I’m going to numb all of the parts of his mouth to get that one tooth. No, I’m just joking ’cause they’ll take this (?) and get us all in trouble, it’s a conspiracy, everyone in the masjid.”

Hamza Andreas Tzortzis:
Some people object to Islam making the public expression of homosexuality a criminal act. This is subjective and only strikes a chord amongst those who cannot escape the social constructs in their own societies…There are societies past and present which accepted pedophilia and canabilism as normal parts of human life and they would find Western society oppressive preventing them from carrying out these practices. Like-wise some societies may view the legalisation of abortion and the enslavement of animals for human purposes as barbaric too…Do you believe that rape and murder are relatively bad? Surely not, that would indicate that they can also be relatively good! Hence those who claim that making homosexuality a criminal act is wrong are totally inconsistent as they would have to objectively show that it is wrong – however they can not do that because, as discussed, that would mean they would have to believe in God – in any case, God says its wrong.”

Murtaza Khan:
Not even animals behave in that manner…Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve…In the hadith you find ‘You find the people doing the action of Lot, kill the one who does the action and the one the action is being done to.’ Punish that individual. Yet what do we find today? Gay Muslim societies. If I’m wrong then tell me I’m wrong. Gay Muslim societies. Flamboyant enough to boast about their homosexuality and their lesbian acts.”

Assim Al Hakeem:
Homosexuality is an illness and something that Allah despises. The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam has cursed those who have intercourse with their wives through the anus. The punishment and the consequences of having it with another man is even greater...try to stay away from whatever reminds you of this filth. Change your friends if they encourage you to do this. Socialize and mix with righteous people in masjids and in circles of knowledge where you can learn the Quran and the Sunnah. This will keep you closer to Allah and away from Satan.”

“Homosexuality is not natural. If people were allowed to do so, illnesses would spread among them (aids) and they will not reproduce. It takes all the bashfulness and good character of people and turns them into animals that seek only their sexual satisfaction through weird ways.”

“If you refer to the Old Testament you will find that homosexuality is forbidden and the punishment for that is stoning to death. In Islam the same thing applies. Homosexuality is not something that is natural. It is something that a person convinces himself by and it’s an abnormality that must be treated and it must not be accepted as a normal thing…And we have seen gay marriages, we have seen so many things that go against nature. Not even in the animal world you will find this abnormality. And homosexuality is something that cannot be tolerated in Islam.”

Islamic Network:
The acts of homosexuality and lesbianism are certainly a perversion and a serious deviation from the inherent nature of man. These acts of defiance against human nature are also even viler and uglier than adultery. There is consensus among both Muslims and the followers of other religions that lesbianism and homosexuality are evil and filthy practices. This is why it is not surprising to find that Islam so vehemently prohibits it and adopts such a harsh attitude against it…The punishment awaiting such people in the Hereafter has already been explained, but what about their punishment in this world?…it has been confirmed that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said,

Kill the one who sodomizes and the one to who lets it be done to him.’(Tirmizi)

Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (RA) had passed such a ruling and Hadrat Ali (RA) was very severe in his ruling against such a crime. It is established that once Sayyiduna Khaalid bin Waleed (RA) found a man in the frontiers of Arabia marrying another man in the way a woman marries a man, so he wrote about it to Abu Bakr (RA). When Abu Bakr (RA) consulted with the Sahaabah, Ali (RA) who was the severest in his condemnation of it said, ‘Only one out of the many nations had indulged in it and you all know how Allah Ta’ala had dealt with them. I feel that he should be destroyed by fire.’ So Abu Bakr (RA) wrote back to Sayyiduna Khaalid (RA) who then put the man to death by means of fire.

Ibn Qassaar and Ibn Taymiyyah (AR) have said: All the Sahaabah (radhiallaahu anhum) were unanimous that he should be killed though some of them differed in the manner in which it should be done.

Abu Bakr (RA) said that he should be executed by being thrown from a great height.

Another view of Hadrat Ali (RA) was that a wall should be dropped upon him.

Hadrat Ibn Abbaas, Ali, Jaabir bin Zaid, Abdullah bin Ma`mar, Imaam Zuhri and Imaam Maalik (radhiallaahu anhum) have said that those who commit the evil deed of the people of Loot (AS)should be stoned to death, whether they be married or unmarried. This is also one of the narrations of Imaams Ahmad, Shaafi`ee and Abu Sawr (AR).

Hadrat Ibn Abbaas (RA) was once asked about the punishment for the homosexual. He replied, ‘He should be taken to the top of the highest building in the town and thrown headlong from there. Then he should be pelted with stones.’

Apostasy

Assim Al Hakeem:
What is the penalty on a person who change his religion from Islam to some other religion? “This is apostasy and it is punishable by death in an Islamic society.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“And then finally the hadith ‘Whoever changes his religion then kill him’…This is talking about the Muslim man or woman who changes their religion from Islam to anything else, kill them in the Islamic state because he has made a form of shirk and that he has legislated for himself what Allah said was haram. And it’s haram for him to change his religion. So the Muslim who changes his religion, the penalty for that is death because he said it was halal.”

Abuz Zubair (Saleem Beg):
Anybody who attributes themselves to kufr philosophy, such as communism, secularism, capitalism, that these people are apostates and if they claim to be Muslims then these people are major hypocrites, major munafiqeen because on the one hand they outwardly claim to be Muslims whilst they are inwardly kuffar, disbelievers…Anybody who mocks Allah or his messenger or anyone or any aspect of religion which is known from the deen, by necessity is a kaffir and a murtad and is subject to execution because the Prophet said ‘execute the one who changes his religion.”

“The belief that the origin of man was the apes then this is disbelief in Allah because it involves rejecting the Quran and what the Muslims have agreed upon, nay, what the humanity has agreed upon because it is now clear that this view is utterly false devoid of any truth…he must be dealt with in order to prevent his harm through any means, even if it be execution.”

Islamic Network:
By making apostasy punishable with death two types of converts are deterred : those who accept Islam out of hypocrisy and those who do so for some material benefit.”

Religious supremacy

Assim Al Hakeem:
“You ask for shariah anywhere, because this is the law of Allah the almighty. So we have to agree on this point. Is it wrong to call for shariah in Israel? No, because this is the law of Allah and should be applied and implemented everywhere in the world.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
Muslims shouldn’t be satisfied with living in other than the total Islamic State…We want the laws of Islam to be practised, we want to do away with the man-made laws.”

Murtaza Khan:
“That is the reality of the sharia. That is the reality of Islamic law, that it has come to supersede, to override all other ways of life. It is a faith that one should not begin to turn aside, a faith which is a dominant faithIf we’re supposed to be Muslims we’re supposed to be dominant.”

“That’s the biggest debate that exists amongst us because many of us in our hearts are calling the dawah more than our nation, that can the hudood of Allah be implemented in the twenty-first century? Is it possible? Is it really applicable in Western society today, that the shariah will come? Will it come? People of sunnah say that will it come? How will it come? He is the one who sent his messenger with wudah with guidance and the right deen to prevail over all other ways of life. If you don’t believe that in your heart, you already lost. You have already lost. If you don’t believe that in your heart that Islam is going to be victorious, Islam will always be victorious. People will not be victorious…the word of Allah (SAW) will always be supreme.”

Hamza Andreas Tzortzis:
“We as Muslims reject the idea of freedom of speech, and even the idea of freedom. We see under the Khilafa (caliphate), when people used to engage in a positive way, this idea of freedom was redundant, it was unnecessary, because the society understood under the education system of the Khilafa state.”

Child Marriage

Assim Al Hakeem:
“It is permissible to marry a child but it isn’t permissible to have sex with that child if she is not ready physically and emotionally.”

Female Circumcision

Assim Al Hakeem:
“Whatever the prophet tells us we follow, whether the medical reports supports or disagrees and rejects. So male circumcision is mandatory. As for female circumcision scholars differ and the most authentic opinion is that it is recommended and it’s a sunnah.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“The World Health Organisation they said ‘Female Genital Mutilation is any tampering with the genitalia of the girl, any tampering with the genitalia.’ There are three types, the extreme one that Muslims do in East Africa, and then the one that’s a little lesser than that, and then the one that is the sunnah that the prophet allowed – it goes against what the World Health Organisation said. Any tampering is not acceptable with the World Health Organisation and if you do that sunnah in the UK you are breaking the law and you can go to jail. The point that I want to make about the piercing is that the kuffar they attack the Muslims for the sunnah, I’m not talking about the second and the third group, we are against that, the deen is against that. But the sunnah where a little bit is done, …didn’t bring anything that is going to harm the people, and you don’t have to do it but the point is the kuffar they attack our religion and they describe our religion as being barbaric for having this particular sunnah there. But then, according to their own definition, when the girl puts a piercing in that area, according to them that’s Female Genital Mutilation but they don’t have anything to say about it. So I’m mentioning this and I’m bringing it to your attention, connecting it to the lecture that we gave today about your identity. If you know who Allah is you know who you are, you know yourself. And part of knowing yourself and knowing your identity Muslims, especially you young people - don’t apologise to people for anything about our religion.”

Views on women

Abdurraheem Green:
“Is it the responsibility of the government to arrest the thieves and the murderers and the rapists? And to do something with them to prevent that happening and to prevent that evil spreading in society? Is that not the duty of government? Yes or no? And don’t we all recognise that governments are allowed to use some type of force in order to arrest such people? And to prevent them from their harm? Yes or no?…So we recognise that those in authority have the right to use force if they have to prevent some evil taking place. What is the problem therefore that Islam has given the head of the household some allowance to use a type of force in order to prevent his family from falling into evil?…So if your relationship is like that (links hands) then you turn your back on your wife, your wife is gonna feel sad and she’s gonna relent to that. Even if this after some time does not work then the husband is allowed, to prevent her from evil, to apply some type of physical force. This is a type of very light beating.”

“It is our responsibility and because of that Allah requires that the woman is obedient to her husband. That when he tells her to do something and he commands her she should do her best if it’s within her capability, if, this is important, if it’s within her capability she should do it.”

Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
“No man has the right to talk to another man’s wife except with his knowledge and permission, to talk with his daughter except for with his knowledge or permission, his sister except with his knowledge or permission.”

“Allah has created the woman, even if she gets a PhD, deficient. Her intellect is incomplete, deficient. She may be suffering from hormones that will make her emotional. It takes two witnesses of a woman to equal the one witness of the man.”

Murtaza Khan:
“Any woman who comes out of her house, perfuming herself, every single eye that looks at her, she is an adulterous woman.”

Assim Al Hakeem:
Can I refuse to have intimate relations with my husband if he drinks alcohol? “A woman must not refuse her husband even if he drinks alcohol because this is a major sin. And it’s a sin upon himself but this does not call for her to refuse having intimate relations with him becausethis is his right.

“Imagine I have a wife and she says ‘Listen, I’m not obliged by law, by Islam to cook for you, to iron your thobes or to take care of the house – this is not my obligation’ then I can do the same and I say ‘OK Islam does not oblige me to give you a monthly salary or to take you down to a restaurant every now and then or to make you go and shop for clothes to fill you cupboards or wardrobes or whatever. I’m not obliged by Islam and it is my right to prevent you from going out the whole year. Why should you go out? Stay in the home. I don’t give you any permission to leave.’

Can a woman lead for example like the Saudi women who are struggling to become political leaders? “No, this is not permissible in Islam whether in Saudi or in any other country.”

“Among the blessings of Allah upon an individual is that he’s blessed with a woman who would obey him if he orders her and who would please him if he looks at her. So this is another characteristic. She has to be obedient and the happiest husbands are those with obedient wives.”

“Any woman who rejects having intimacy with her husband without any legitimate reason, the angels curse her from the time she goes to bed until the time she wakes up in the morning and Allah is angry with her because she doesn’t have any legitimate reason and the husband needs this intimacy.”

Islamic Network:
“The Qur’ân clearly states that the evidence of two women is equivalent to that of one man, giving the reason that if one forgets, the other may remind her.

Giving evidence in court can be a daunting experience, especially as the judicial system will consist mainly of men, so the women can give each other moral support as well as reminders. It is a serious and burdensome responsibility, which has been lightened for women. There are four situations in which evidence is required:

a. Crimes related to penal ordinances and retaliation. If men and women are both available, the men will be called to give witness and the women will not be summoned.

b. In economic affairs related to wealth and property, which are usually the domains of men, the evidence of two men is accepted. If two men are not available, then one man and two women will be accepted.

c. In affairs concerning women only such as pregnancy, birth, sexual defects, the evidence of one woman alone is accepted.

d. In criminal cases where only women are the witnesses, the four Imams (religious leaders) are unanimous in not accepting the evidence of women.

They reason that in cases such as murder and rape, the women will be emotional and may get confused. Such evidence becomes suspicious, and a principle of Shar’iah (Islamic law) is that any suspicion about the evidence makes the evidence null and void. In this context the Zahiri school of thought is more credible. It states that if women alone are the witness in a criminal case, their evidence will be accepted according to the principle of two women’s evidence being equivalent to that of one man. So in cases of adultery, the evidence of four men or eight women will be accepted.

It is an established scientific fact that women cannot explain the intimate details of events with the accuracy which men are capable of.

“If a woman is not the maintainer of her own home, how can she be expected to maintain the government of a country…The nature of the job is that it suits men only, and women who try to take on a man’s work will inevitably find themselves out of their depth.”

Stoning

Abuz Zubair (Saleem Beg):
“In response to the second misconception, it is inconceivable that the application of the Hudud with all its applicable conditions and impediments would fail to reform a corrupt society and result in mass amputations. In fact, anyone who objectively analyses the Hudud system in Islam will no doubt agree that it is the wisest and the most effective solution to criminality and to moral decline by being a two-edged sword, because it efficiently decreases the crime rate on the one hand by the harshness and the fear factor, and on the other hand, the preliminary conditions for the Hudud make it more than difficult for the punishments to be applied. If we look at the Hadd punishment for adultery, for instance, the punishment for which is stoning to death, applicable equally to both male and female.”
Abu Usamah at-Thahabi:
The one who is married and he commits zina he is stoned to death. The one who is not married and he commits zina he is flogged one hundred times and he is put out and expelled from the city for a year, that comes from the sunnah…The fornicating woman and the fornicating man, flog both of them one hundred times for what they did. Flog both of them one hundred times and do not allow any mercy to cause you to refrain from flogging them in the religion of Allah. Stand up for the truth and establish the religion. Flog ‘em…The woman who fornicates and the man who fornicates flog both of them one hundred times. The scholars said one of the wisdoms behind that ikhwani, is because ultimately the responsibility of the zina falls on the shoulders of the girl because she is the one who is going to ultimately give the final word.”

Abdurraheem Green:
“We want to create an environment where it is encouraging people to be good, otherwise what is the point in the hudood? What is the hudood? Why you chop the hand off the thief? Why you stone the adulterer and the adulteress to death? Why do you chop the hand and the leg of the one who commits highway robbery and leave them to bleed to death or crucify them? All of this is to deter the people from being evil and committing evil. Why is the person who drinks alcohol, who is a drunk, whipped eighty times in public? All of this is to deter the people from being evil.”

“Adultery is punishable by death, and a slow and painful death by stoning. It is indicative of just how harmful this crime is to society.”

Murtaza Khan:
“Islam tells us the person who practices such practices (fornication), if they’re a married individual then their punishment according to sharia is they are to be stoned to death, that’s the Islamic punishment. If they have never been married before they’re supposed to be flogged a hundred times and to be sent out of the village or the area.”

“The fornicating woman and the fornicating man, flog them 100 times. The sharia says flog them 100 times and to send them out of the land for one year…Why is the punishment for a married individual more harsher than for a young man, or a man who has not been married before, etc, or a woman. It’s because the married man has that form of release. And the woman as well. So the punishment for them becomes stoning to death.”

Assim Al Hakeem:
“Major sins are all the sins that Allah warned and threatened those who commit them with hellfire or with prescribed punishments in this life, stealing – chop his hand off, killing – chop his head off, fornication – give him hundred lashes or stone him to death if he’s married, slandering – give him eighty lashes, drinking – forty to eighty lashes aswell.”

“As for the legal system that is contrary to the laws prescribed by the Creator of heaven and earth, ruling according to it constitutes disbelief in the Creator of heaven and earth, such as the claim that giving precedence to the male over the female in inheritance is not fair and it is necessary to make them equal in inheritance, and the claim that plural marriage is unjust, or that divorce is unfair to the woman, and that stoning, cutting off the hand and so on are barbaric acts that should not be done to people, and so on.”
