Regarding Translators being needed for patients

How many times were translators needed in your hospitals during 2010?

I am advised that the Trust does not hold this information, as individual incidences of usage were previously reported through a number of different service suppliers with no central database maintained within UHL.

- How much did your hospitals spend on translating costs in 2010?

- How much did your hospitals spend on translating costs in 2011?

I am advised that interpreting costs for the 2011 calendar year were £274,006. Interpreting costs for the 2011-12 financial year starting 1 April 2011 to date are £212,544.

Bargain (not) This would pay for another hospital. If you go into a hospital and you cant speak English pay for your own interpreter or take the trouble to learn the lingo. Why do we have to pay?

Can you imagine in France, Spain, Italy, in fact most of the fucking world providing millions of pounds to pay for translators, we are the most idiotic bastards on earth, add to the hospital translators, Courts, Police Stations, social services, and I bet we are talking enough money to pay our national debt off!!!

What the fuck are we doing?

The story was not clear. WHO cannot speak English? The patients, or the doctors?

This people coming here on Holiday and getting their hips and things done. Come to England if you need a free operation no trouble as an immigrant you go to the top of the waiting last otherwise its against your human rights. Options or dentist same thing come to England once a year and get all the treatment you want and you don’t have to pay a penny for it!.

It’s all another immigrant scam the mother takes the kid to the hospital pretends not to be able to speak english the husband or another relative volunteers to act as translator and charges the NHS (To which they probably have not contributed a penny)£40 an hour plus expenses for days sometimes weeks I know a girl that used to sign the cheques until it got to her and she jacked it in.
